Being eco-friendly: Are we looking at this right?

You would find people comparing a dog (of a certain size) to energy wasted on building a car.
And at the back of my mind, I’m thinking ‘They’ wasted enough time and money researching this and giving their so called ’solutions’ (except the part where owners do not take care of their pets faeces properly) when the simple answer is…
Just Plant More Trees/Plants.
Reduce this and that is one way of looking after the enviroment, but really its just like killing the earth more slowly. Its more effective to have more plants.
Now why don’t they suggest that?
Maybe its just me that I see many people (and organizations) talking about using eco-friendly solutions and products but they never talk about planting trees…

The trees in order to show how our everyday activities impact the point of the carbon emmissions we emit.
The trees in order to make up for all the carbon emmissions we emit.
For all the trees there isnt enough land left to show how our everyday activities impact the environment so no dont.
