Is Fur now not only acceptable in fashion but eco and Conservation friendly?

Now before you answer this please consider the following.
The fur council Canada is now headed by Paula Lishman the designer who is married to Bill Lishman the Conservationist. Here is their new campaign. Please read this thoroughly or do not bother posting:

Forty years of man using synthetic materials hasn’t done animals much good at all: they are all made from petro chemicals. Mink and fox have done okay being hunted and worn for fur by man for millenia. Now however we endanger animals like leopard not by using their fur ( protected for decades) but by destroying their habitat for innoccuous products such as coffee and palm oil.
As it materialises that much animal rights propaganda is manufactured:

and as it is revealed that native peoples actually protect habitat through fur trade; is it now okay to wear fur?

Are there any ‘less expensive’ Eco-Friendly countertops?

Prissysissy asked:

Hi! We’re about to buy a great old house, and both the kitchen and master bathroom will be getting a total overhaul. We want it to be as green as possible without breaking the bank…the house is lovely, but under 2000 square feet and in a modest part of town. So, it’s not really the sort of residence where you would spend a ton of cash on countertops. But with that said….if we’re going to go to the trouble of renovating…it’s important that the finished product be lovely, functional and interesting. I’d love some guidance with this! We are in Buffalo, New York. I know that in some cases, shipping can be a huge part of the cost, so that’s a consideration as well.

Why do you buy “Green” products?

Monday, January 28th, 2008
Tuesday Smith asked:

I’m doing a paper for a class and the topic I’ve picked is “marketing natural products to green consumers”. I need some ideas other than my own.

What catches your eye? Are there particular brands you trust? Or don’t trust? Do you take packaging into consideration? Or distribution distance? Do you look into companies or trust word of mouth/the package/advertising?

Really, any thoughts on Green products (other than a debate whether or not to use them-it’s irrelevant to me) would be helpful.

Oh, and by “products” here, I’m talking about little things like natural shampoo, eco-friendly dishwashing soap, recycled paper, etc. Just regular household products that you’ve replaced with environmentally friendly alternatives.

Thanks!

I have a bunch of Envirosax bags and I was wondering if I should put my food in the eco bags myself or should I give them to the grocery bagger because I don’t want plastic bags because plastic bags are bad for the earth!

Log cabin sealent - is there one called “eco-something” or “ego-something” or “eagle-something”?

Sunday, January 27th, 2008
a-mac asked:

The person that we are buying a log cabin home from can’t remember what was used for sealent on the exterior. We want to find out what was used so we can use the same product. He thought it might have started with “eco-something” or “ego-something” or “eagle-something.” Does anyone know if there is one out there that starts with “eco,” ego,” or “eagle” as the product or brand name? Apparently, it was popular for West Coast log homes…

Thanks!

When making paper, what methods/things could you add/change to the procedure to make the product cloth-like?

When making paper what methods or things could you add/change to the procedure to make the product cloth-like?

For our science project, we are trying to make biodegradable and disposable clothing from recycled paper.

It is better if the methods that are suggested are eco-friendly, not too hard or complicated and can be accomplished without the use of industrial machinery and chemicals that are hard to find/acquire.

It would be really great if that something you suggested or answered is something that you can merely add to the (paper) pulp to get the desired results of it being more cloth-like.

It also would be great if you included an explanation with your methods and suggestions.

BTW i am also interested in good paper-making methods.

Thanks! :) PEACE. :D
