Hi all I just seeked a number of these really neat bags (http://tuckerbags.com) and wondered what’s the preferred material for most of this stuff. Anyone know? I have a friend that bought a dress made out of recycled lace/denim/silk material.

Biodegradable cat litter?

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009
OrngTby asked:

Alright, so I’ve read about it, read reviews about it, but I want you to tell me about it. I currently use Arm & Hammer Multi Cat Clumping litter, which works great! Minimal odors, clumps great, and I have never had the problem of my cat not using his litter box.

But… I want to be more eco friendly. As an advocate of integrative alternative veterinary medicine, I feel as though I should find a litter that works as well as my clumping clay pollutant with all the advantages of the wheat/pine/corn based products on the market now.

So tell me about your experiences with different cat litter or even automatic cat boxes. Swheat Scoop? Feline Pine? Yesterday’s News? Worlds Best Cat Litter?

With everyone natural feeding, is anyone out there using a natural cat litter? Or is clay still reigning supreme.

Where can I buy a white organic tank top for men?

Sunday, June 14th, 2009
CC asked:

My boyfriend wants to buy tank top undershirts (the kind that is normally known as a “wife beater”), and I am trying to urge him to get an organic or eco-friendly product, but all the ones I see on the web are at least $15 for *one*. That would be fine for a shirt that you wear outside, but he’s going to need around 5-10 undershirts (which you can usually get in a pack at Walmart for $4), and I don’t think I can get him to spend that much money on this. Where can I buy affordable, ordinary, organic white tank top undershirts?

Aquafina? good for environment?

Friday, June 12th, 2009
Eric C asked:

what i hate the most is the giant corporations using their PR power to capitalize on the health and environmental consiousness of the consumers. like: “no trans fat” but 1,500 calories per serving, oil company “invested millions into alternative energy” while making billions every year on petroleum, etc. to me, just a bunch of hypocrites.
now aquafina spending big money advertising their bottle “using 35% less plastic” so it that supposed to good for the environment? Boo Hoo! are their bottles degrade 10 times faster then the regular bottles??? have we really solve the problem of using the plastic? NO.
i think what companies needs to do now is to committe to produce healthy, less enviromental impact products as “obligation”, not just try to score browny points with the general public, save the millions of advertising money to develop even more eco friendly technology. what is your thoughts?
aquafina is, nothing but filtered tap water…

Safe to dump old shampoo?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009
Ellie B asked:

I have about 50 bottles of old shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash etc (old being between three and six years old) and I’m not sure if its eco-friendly to dump the remaining substances down the drain or not. I want to recycle the bottles. Are the old products still good to use? If so, I will use them up. if not, how can I properly get rid of them?

MACAYLE

Foundation for very oily, sensitive skin?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009
Veekay asked:

I need to get new foundation to wear to an event this weekend. I have v. oily skin that breaks out/itches from products that are strongly scented or have harsh chemicals. Makeup tends to come off quickly & makes me oilier in a matter of minutes (esp. liquid, even if oil-free). The last foundn. I used regularly was a Shiseido powder. It didn’t make my skin oilier, but it wore off fast. Nowadays I usually don’t wear makeup–I would if I could find something that would work w/ my face!

I need something that would last 8-9 hrs. (or close) w/out making me look oilier. I have light brown skin, with v. oily T-zone (esp. nose) & medium oily elsewhere. I can spend up to around $40. I need to buy locally bec. I don’t have much time. The makeup places around me are Sephora, Macy’s, Bare Essentials, drugstores, Whole Foods, & Aveda. I’d prefer natural/eco-friendly, but will consider anything that’s not too harsh.

Primer/moisturizer/other oil control suggestions are also welcome.

Thanks!
