So why are these things for baby out there if they are bad?

Daughter, Sister, Wife & Mother asked:

Just curious…
if bumper pads are dangerous, why are they part of crib bedding sets?
if feeding cereal in a bottle (even watered down w/ bmilk or formula) is harmful, why are there cereal nipples for bottles, and cereal feeders? http://www.playtexstore.com/cgi-bin/item/PLA05708

I don’t buy the idea that companies are naive or malicious to make these products! Perhaps they aren’t as bad as some people may lead us to believe?

btw- whats up with the ads for the chlorine-free wipes?? all wipes are clorine free -I checked!

Why am I made to feel as if I am somehow a bad mom for using anything not organic, eco-friendly, or “green”? That stuff is 2-3 times the price!

Help with pricing for newbie business?

Lisa asked:

Ok, I’m looking to open an online shop selling crafts. I would most likely do this either on etsy or hyena cart. I can make the following items very well:

100% recycled chubby crayons in 2 sizes, small and large
Soybean Crayons (eco friendly) in various shapes and sizes
Soap (I use real ingredients, no essential oils or dyes. I would be willing to add essential oils or dyes by request.) in various shapes and sizes
Mineral Makeup
Lipgloss
100% recycled paper (I make it myself out of paper we’ve used in the house, junk mail, etc.)
Cloth baby wipes
Washcloths
Organic Playdough (lasts for about a year)

I’m working on cloth diapers, as well, but haven’t gotten the hang of them enough to offer a consistent quality product. I hope to be able to offer them and candles by the end of next year.

Would I be able to sell these items, and about how much would they go for? Also, what are some differences between hyenacart and etsy? Do you favor one over the other, and why? Thank you in advance for any advice.
I forgot to put bath salts on the list.
I report bots. Thank you.

I am currently building a website selling eco-friendly products…

http://www.seek-eco.com

I am just trying to get a bit of feedback on what people think of the layout? ease of use? the content? what content it should have etc…

I will be adding lots of new products soon but what kind of stuff would people like to see on there? Thanks :)

If you’ve read about this article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091220/sc_afp/lifestyleclimatewarminganimalsfood

You would find people comparing a dog (of a certain size) to energy wasted on building a car.

And at the back of my mind, I’m thinking ‘They’ wasted enough time and money researching this and giving their so called ’solutions’ (except the part where owners do not take care of their pets faeces properly) when the simple answer is…

Just Plant More Trees/Plants.

Reduce this and that is one way of looking after the enviroment, but really its just like killing the earth more slowly. Its more effective to have more plants.

Now why don’t they suggest that?

Maybe its just me that I see many people (and organizations) talking about using eco-friendly solutions and products but they never talk about planting trees…
